Hi Everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA from my blog lately…*twirls fingers guiltily*. Without boring you to death with my life story, the gist is that I’ve been swamped with massive school assignments and had also picked up more shifts at work. On top of that, I have spent the little bit of free time I had working on top secret nail projects – which I’m hoping to be able to share with you soon. But, I’m back and I’ve got tons of cool stuff to show you!
I wore today’s manicure for several days this past week as it was inspired the persistent rain. It started out with just this ombré look.
Polishes used are:
Δ Pinky: A-England Camelot – the perfect black creme, opaque in 1 coat!
Δ Ring: L’Oreal Greycian Goddess – one of the prettiest dark grey creme in my stash, 2 coats.
Δ Middle: Butter London Billy No Mates – a gorgeous dove grey with silky smooth formula, 2 coats.
Δ Index: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls – my go-to off-white creme, slightly thicker formula (or maybe it’s gotten thick because I’ve used it so much!), 2 coats.
Δ Thumb: Born Pretty Store Matte White – a new discovery of mine for the perfect stark white, formula is thick but manageable, 2 coats
This was my first time wearing ombré nails. I felt the monochromatic scheme perfectly reflected the shades of varying grey color in the sky and the clouds on rainy days. The bonus is that contrary to the often dreary rainy weather, this manicure looks fresh and clean!
I added KBShimmer Grayscale when the drizzling rain turned into a down pour. Grayscale is such a unique monochromatic glitter topper. It is perfectly named because the glitters consist of micro, small, medium, and large round, hexagon, and rectangular shapes in white, gray, and black! Can you also see the hidden play on word in the way I topped this glitter? Hint: Grayscale glitter is on top of gray ombré (like a gray scale) nails! Is that too dorky? Oh well, I had fun with it 🙂
I felt the final look really adds whimsy to the manicure and mimics the grungy look of the rain-washed sidewalk. What do you think? Do you like the grey ombré look by itself? Or do you like the added monochromatic glitter topper?
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend! I will see you soon……. I promise ♥♥♥

An interesting mani! Like the way the top glitter looks throughout the ombre series.

Thank you, Lara! I was also surprised by how interesting the glitter looked over gray ombre. I may need to do this again soon 😀 Any suggestions for what color you’d like to see another ombre in?

Completely in love with the gorgeous gradient and I love how the gradient peeks through the glitter on top from below! Very beautiful yet very simple!

Thank you Ressa! I love this simple look too. And it’s surprisingly interesting to see how the different shades of gray base accent different parts of the glitter topper. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! ♥
