Happy Hump Day! I’ve got an exciting nail art post to show you today for two reasons: 1. It’s inspired by fashion, one of the my favorite sources for design ideas that I haven’t had many chances to show off; and 2. It features one of my all-time favorite red cream – Butter London ‘Come To Bed Red’

As you can see, this nail art was done a while ago since it was inspired by the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 collection. This post has been sitting in my draft folder for weeks and I never had a chance to fully finish writing it up until now! The West Coast isn’t sunny very often, but when the sun does shine, it’s truly beautiful and so very green (thanks to the rain throughout the year). I had a lot of fun taking these photos.

One of my favorite design themes is the pairing of one solid color with black and white in a simple pattern. The finished look is often bold, graphic and ever so chic!

Burberry has been one of my favorite luxury fashion houses since I was old enough to be aware of the idea of “fashion”. For such an iconic brand with a long history (it’s 158 years old this year!), Burberry continues to strike the perfect balance between innovation and classic high fashion. For this and many more reasons, I fell in love when I saw the above look with the red polka dots blouse, black and white striped skirt, white frame sunglasses, and red pouch. You can see that I painted each of the 4 patterns on a nail.

Colors Used:
Δ Butter London ‘Come To Bed Red’
Δ Picture Polish ‘Bright White’
Δ A-England ‘Camelot’ (black)

This look is really very simple to create. I used striping tape for the index finger and a dotting tool for the middle finger. On the ring finger are the flowers inspired by The Petal rubber bag. I painted the flower petals using a small nail art brush in a scattered formation and finished them off with Born Pretty Store silver studs in the center. Remember, you can get most of the regular priced items there with my Born Pretty Store 10% OFF Coupon: ‘BKJ61‘.

And here’s a close up of the red pouch: it’s such a great look, perfectly balancing a classy design with modern day functionality.

Of course, what better nail polish to accompany the inspiration from Burberry, a British fashion brand than Butter London, a British go-to brand for high fashion beauty! Thus, I have the chance to profess my endless love for Butter London ‘Come To Bed Red’. I wore this gorgeous red crelly for my engagement photo shoot, then again during our honeymoon. It effortlessly combines classy elegance with the right touch of flirty flare (picture the image evoked by the polish name). To boot, it has a smooth and “buttery” 2 coat finish.

I hope you liked this look inspired by fashion! It’s a very popular nail art theme and I hope to bring you more of these! I’ll leave you now with a few more photos of one of my favorite looks right now! Have a wonderful rest of your week ~ XoXo, Kate ♥
